If your feet hurt at the end of the day: you’ve accomplished something!

Glazing

Even the small things count. Sometimes it’s the only thing I can remember to think about when the day is over– what I’ve accomplished with my waking 17 hours of the day. Today, I feel confident in saying that I accomplished a lot. My feet are killing me. Exercise, then work (I mounted over 60 plant specimens on paper in 4 hours, which is a feat of its own kind), went to class, then to the studio.

Today was a long day at the studio– I started waxing and glazing work before 5:00pm. I was glazing and loading my kiln until about 10:30pm. It feels good to walk away at the end of the day knowing that I got something done. I will fire the kiln tomorrow– it will take at least 12 hours… but here’s what my kiln looked like before I left the studio tonight:

I am a potter-- I love to draw, play guitar, cook yummy food... and just have fun in general. I love to make a difference with my work, even something as small as inspiring a fellow artist :)
